Jeremy Pruitt and his Tennessee team had one final opportunity to end the season on a high note on Saturday but the Volunteers failed to make things competitive against Texas A&M in the second half, ultimately falling 34-13 in Neyland Stadium.

That loss dropped Tennessee to 3-7 at the conclusion of the program’s first 10-game, SEC-only schedule.

During the postgame interview following the Texas A&M game, Pruitt was asked about a report claiming Tennessee is under investigation by the NCAA and that is why Eric Gray didn’t play against in the game.

“Well, I haven’t seen any article or anything like that but anytime in college football, or college athletics, you have typical compliant stuff and that’s all I know,” Pruitt said after the game.

When asked for a third time why Eric Gray didn’t play in the game, Tennessee’s coach had this to say.

“I’ve already addressed that one,” Pruitt added.
