Things didn’t go the way Garrett Shrader envisioned when he signed on to play for Joe Moorhead at Mississippi State but he did enough during his short time in Starkville to leave his mark on the program.

Following Moorhead’s dismissal at Mississippi State, Shrader stuck it out heading into the first season of the Mike Leach era.

The Charlotte native was even willing to move to tight end in the Air Raid offense, but ultimately made the decision to leave the Mississippi State program after appearing in four games this season.

Now we know where Shrader will play in 2021 as the former Mississippi State quarterback announced his decision to transfer to Syracuse on Saturday.

During his true freshman season in 2019, Shrader appeared in 10 games, making four starts as he competed with Penn State graduate transfer Tommy Stevens.

Shrader scored 14 touchdowns in 2019 and completed 88 of 153 passes for 1,170 yards. He also accounted for 587 rushing yards.
