It has been reported for a couple of weeks that the Ole Miss Rebels had interest in bringing former Texas assistant Coleman Hutzler in as part of the staff in Oxford.

Hutzler served as a co-DC and LB coach under Tom Herman in 2020, but he has deep SEC ties, including spending time at South Carolina.

On Monday, AL.com’s Matt Zenitz reported that the Rebels were expected to hire Hutzler as the special teams coordinator in the next couple of days:

Steve Sarkisian took over for Herman at Texas this offseason, so many of the 2020 Longhorns assistants are searching for new jobs. It appears Hutzler will land on his feet in Oxford in a conference he has plenty of experience with.
