Florida track great Grant Holloway sets new world record
One of the all-time great UF athletes added a major feat to his career accomplishments on Wednesday: a world record.
Former Florida track standout Grant Holloway set an indoor record for 60-meter hurdles at a Wednesday meet in Madrid.
Holloway clocked a time of 7.29 seconds, one hundredth better than the previous record, set by Colin Jackson in 1994.

Holloway was rated a 3-star wide receiver prospect in the class of 2016 on the 247Sports Composite. He ultimately chose UF track and field over 17 football scholarship offers. Holloway clearly made the right call, as he has a bright future ahead of him representing America on the international stage. Holloway set multiple NCAA records, including in the 110-meter hurdles and 4×100 meter relay.
