J’Marion Gooch will play in the SEC East after all.

Gooch tweeted his commitment to Mizzou on Wednesday, three days after it was first reported that he was being released from his National Letter of Intent signed with Tennessee.

A Gallatin (Tennessee) High School student, Gooch is listed at over 6-7, 358 pounds and rated 3-stars, the No. 14 recruit in the state, No. 51 offensive tackle and No. 628 prospect overall nationally on the 247Sports Composite. As noted in 247Sports’ report about the LOI release, Gooch spent his junior and senior seasons at The King’s Academy in Seymour, Tennessee, before transferring back to Gallatin High School in November.

It is Gooch’s third time committing to an SEC program. He was pledged to the Gus Malzahn staff at Auburn from April 16, 2020, to Aug. 31, 2020, the date he flipped his commitment to UT. Gooch signed with Tennessee in December before Jeremy Pruitt’s firing.
