Alabama held its Pro Day on Tuesday, and Patrick Surtain II was one of the players going through drills.

The talented corner showed out, too. He’s projected to be a high first-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, but he only helped his stock on Tuesday.

On a call with reporters after the event, NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah said he thinks Surtain can be the first cornerback off the board in April (via 247Sports):

“It was really good,” Jeremiah said of Surtain’s pro day. “When you look at the testing stuff and start there, it’s outstanding numbers. You kind of put him up, side by side, with Jalen Ramsey — just from a testing standpoint — it’s eerily similar. I think they were a pound different. Very similar across the board in what they did there.

“As a player, to me, he came into this process, where we are standing today, just behind Caleb Farley as the No. 2 corner. They’re both two big, physical, athletic corners. I have Farley just over him, but we get the news that just came out about Farley needing back surgery, which I’ll try to dig into more of that of what the severity of that is. But some teams, even before that, had Patrick as the top guy.

“He’s in the mix to be the first corner off the board, and I thought today was a really solid workout for him. The numbers were great, and I thought the field workout, he moved around and was really fluid for a big guy, which is not easy to do.”

Here’s Surtain’s 40-yard dash, during which he posted an impressive 4.42-second time (unofficially):

He’ll hear his name early in Round 1. How early? We’ll find out next month in Cleveland!
