Tennessee has just released the first updated roster of the Josh Heupel era heading into 2021 spring practice.

The most notable takeaway from the roster release?

Linebackers Henry To’o To’o and Quavaris Crouch are not listed on the roster but Tennessee also appears to be holding their jersey numbers in case they plan to return.

No defensive player has been awarded To’o To’o’s No. 11 or Crouch’s No. 27.

Virginia Tech transfer quarterback Hendon Hooker is No. 5 (he was No. 2 during his time with the Hokies), freshman quarterback Kaidon Salter is No. 7, linebacker Aaron Willis (Tennessee’s highest-rated signee from the 2021 recruiting cycle) has been given No. 41.

Another notable from the roster, junior receiver Ramel Keyton is still listed on the team. He did not finish out last season with the team. At that time, Jeremy Pruitt noted the receiver planned to “focus on his academics” instead of football.

Pruitt made similar comments regarding Shawn Shamburger and Deangelo Gibbs but neither player has returned to the team.
