When Mark Stoops made the decision to blow up Kentucky’s offense this offseason, it was a tough decision for the coach due to the close relationships he had built with his former Wildcat assistants Eddie Gran and Darin Hinshaw.

While the decision may have been tough from a personal standpoint, it obviously needed to be done. Now it appears Stoops’ decision to bring in offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Liam Coen is paying off in a big way for the Wildcats.

That’s the way Stoops tells it after seeing the offense in action this spring.

“Today we really pushed the ball down the field, got the ball down the field better than we have in years. So I’m really pleased with the progress,” Stoops shares in the video below shared by BBN Tonight.

Stoops isn’t the only one hyping up the offense as senior defender and team captain Josh Paschal shared his thoughts on Coen’s system on Thursday.

“I love it. I’m not gonna lie, there’s days where we get after them and there’s days that they get after us,” Paschal shared. “And last practice, not this one but last practice, it was a day where they got to us and we really got to see how special their offense really is going to be.”

He went on to share that the best is likely to come from Kentucky’s new-look offense.

“We can see the potential and really how great the offense is going to be,” Paschal added. “There are a lot of hard-working guys on that side of the ball. They’re always putting in extra work together and it’s really just something that, as a defense, that we’re proud to see.”

When asked to share his thoughts on one thing fans and media should know about Kentucky that they don’t know, due to the fact spring practices are closed and the team won’t be having a spring game this season, Paschal immediately praised the offseason addition of Nebraska transfer receiver Wan’dale Robinson.

“I’d probably say something that I want you to know is that Wan’Dale Robinson is a great football player,” he added. “He’s going to be the truth, I believe that. He’s a humble guy.

“My locker is right next to him so I talk to him a lot and today he had, excuse my language, but he had a hell of a play today. He jumped up between two defenders and caught a post and I was like wow… He’s going to be a special player for sure.”

Sounds like Kentucky fans will have plenty to look forward to next season when the Wildcats have possession of the football – which will make for a nice change in Lexington.
