Big news out of Gainesville as Florida redshirt freshman Jahari Rogers has entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal.

Rogers, a native of Arlington, Texas, has played just one season for the Gators after being ranked as the No. 8 cornerback prospect in the country and a top 100 overall recruit in the 2020 recruiting cycle.

News of Rogers’ decision to enter the NCAA transfer portal was first reported by Matt Zenitz of AL.com. As always, it’s important to note that a player can enter the transfer portal and remain at their current school. Entering the portal simply allows players to communicate with other programs regarding potential transfers.

During his freshman season at Florida, Rogers appeared in three games (Missouri, Alabama and Oklahoma) and registered two tackles for the Gators. He came to Gainesville after being selected to participate in the 2020 Under Armour All-American Game.
