When it comes to the quarterbacks expected to be selected in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft, the same names are always mentioned.

Mac Jones, Trevor Lawerence, Zach Wilson, Trey Lance and Justin Fields all top the lists that are currently being thrown around regarding potential first-round selections in the 2021 NFL Draft but there’s a new name being mentioned as the draft inches closer.

While some speculation has centered on Kellen Mond potentially being added to the list, the new name being speculated on was one of the best players in the entire nation last season — Kyle Trask.

In Peter King’s most recent Football Morning in America column for NBC Sports, the NFL insider gives a brief nugget on Trask’s elevating stock with the upcoming draft approaching:

I think I’m starting to think Kyle Trask, the Florida quarterback, has a good chance to be the sixth first-round quarterback. Starting to think.

While that’s admittedly vague, King did not provide any further context on Trask aside from the fact he was surprised to see that Dane Brugler of The Athletic does not rank Trask as a top 100 overall prospect for the 2021 NFL Draft.

That comment likely adds some extra context regarding the feedback King is receiving when it comes to Trask’s rising stock in NFL circles.
