Drew Lock entered the 2020 NFL season as the undisputed starting quarterback for the Denver Broncos but that no longer appears to be the case after the team recently traded for Teddy Bridgewater.

Now comes word from NFL Media’s Michael Silver that Denver may not be done adding quarterbacks to the team’s roster this offseason.

According to Silver, if North Dakota State’s Trey Lance is on the board at No. 9, Denver is more likely to select the raw quarterback now that Bridgewater had joined the team:

Standing at No. 9 in Thursday’s draft order, Denver is still in the running for a quarterback. As Silver explained on NFL Draft Kickoff, the Broncos might be in a better position to take a rookie than they were just 48 hours ago because of Bridgewater’s arrival. “It also gives them more of a path to drafting Trey Lance if he’s there at No. 9,” Silver explained. “He’s not a guy that they consider is ready to play right away in an optimal world. Didn’t play that much at North Dakota State, but now, with Teddy Bridgewater on board, you can make that pick and feel pretty good about it.”

Last season, Lock completed just 57 percent of his passes for 2,933 yards with 16 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. He started all 13 games he appeared in for the Broncos.

On the other hand, Bridgewater completed 69.1 percent of his passes for 3,733 yards with 15 touchdowns and 11 interceptions during the 2020 NFL season for the Carolina Panthers.
