This offseason, former Auburn DE Big Kat Bryant was one of a few ex-Tigers who followed head coach Gus Malzahn to UCF.

Now, Malzahn’s Knights are looking to make some noise in the Group of 5 ranks, and Bryant figures to be a big part of the defense.

During a recent media session, Bryant stirred the pot a bit, claiming UCF could “for sure” beat SEC teams like Auburn and Ole Miss:

“Right now? We’d beat somebody like Auburn, for sure,” he said. “We’d beat Auburn for sure. … We’d beat a team like Auburn, Ole Miss. For sure. That’s why I came here.”

During his 4-year Auburn career, Bryant recorded 56 tackles (11.5 for a loss), 10 sacks, 3 interceptions (1 returned for a touchdown), 4 pass breakups, 2 forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.
