The big game in Week 1 of the college football season is at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte on Saturday, as No. 3 Clemson takes on No. 5 Georgia in primetime on ABC. The Tigers and Bulldogs will meet in a matchup of potential College Football Playoff teams.

This year, Clemson will be in search of a 7th straight Playoff appearance and a 3rd national championship in 6 years. Georgia will be looking for a return to the Playoff since the 2017 season. The winner will see an early boost to their CFP hopes, while the loser will look to dodge a damaging 2nd defeat the rest of the way.

On Monday’s episode of “FOX Bet Live”, FOX Sports analyst Clay Travis made his pick for Saturday night’s game, and Bulldogs fans will certainly like what they hear. With Clemson favored by 3.5 points, Travis stated that he felt that it should have been “much closer to a pick-em.”

“One, I love the idea of Kirby Smart, defensive warrior that he is, having an entire offseason to prepare..I like what Kirby Smart’s going to be able to do, getting ready for this Clemson offense with the Trevor Lawrence era finally over there, and I like what we saw out of JT Daniels down the stretch (last year). Georgia, even with their issues at wide receiver and their health there, was a totally different team with JT Daniels down the stretch of this season…

“I think it’s going to be exciting. I think there’s going to be [plenty of] points scored. I think Georgia finds a way to win, something like 31-28, and early in the year, JT Daniels interjects himself into the Heisman conversation.”
