Tua Tagovailoa has a legendary mentor with the Miami Dolphins — Hall of Fame QB Dan Marino.

Marino is one of the best to ever play the quarterback position in the NFL ranks, and he apparently sits in on team meetings sometimes, offering his advice.

Marino turned 60 years old on Wednesday and, after wishing the legend a happy birthday, Tagovailoa shared the best advice he’s ever received from Marino (via Local10.com):

“Pick a guy and let it fly,” Tagovailoa said.

The former Alabama star said he appreciates having Marino’s perspective on things:

“Dan sits in our meetings and helps us with things that we don’t see, or we never thought of seeing,” Tagovailoa said. “I think it’s really good to hear from his perspective, someone who has played the position.”

Will Marino’s advice help Tagovailoa progress this year? We’ll find out moving forward.
