College football fans react to clock issues in Alabama-Florida game
Saturday’s “SEC on CBS” showcase showdown between No. 1 Alabama and No. 11 Florida lived up to its billing, delivering one of the early contenders for best game of the 2021 season.
To the surprise of everyone, the game clock in The Swamp failed on Alabama’s final possession with roughly 3 minutes remaining in a 2-point game. It didn’t stop the Crimson Tide from leaving Gainesville with a 31-29 victory.
Media members and fans alike were in disbelief. The clock issue led to some funny takes on CFB Twitter, including some Nick Saban jokes.
Here’s a small sample of what was said during the final sequence when the game clock failed:
Having issues with the game clock. Time will be kept on the field. What could go wrong?
