Florida had a chance to beat Alabama on Saturday afternoon in The Swamp, but the Gators’ attempt to tie the score came up short in the fourth quarter.

Still, the game did a lot to show that the Gators haven’t taken much, if any, of a step back after losing Kyle Trask, Kyle Pitts and Kadarius Toney to the NFL.

On Monday, ESPN’s Chris “Bear” Fallica weighed in on the Gators, saying coach Dan Mullen is one of the best game-planners around and adding that Georgia winning the Cocktail party isn’t a given anymore:

Emory Jones played well on Saturday, even if, as Fallica says, he doesn’t offer too much of a passing threat.

Can the Gators play Georgia well in the Cocktail Party and perhaps win the SEC East? We’ll find out as the year goes on.
