T.J. Finley played the role of hero in Auburn’s come-from-behind win over Georgia State at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

The Tigers trailed 24-19 when Bo Nix was benched in favor of Finley. It didn’t take long for the LSU transfer to deliver his signature moment with his current school: he led a 13-play, 98-yard drive that culminated in a game-winning touchdown pass to Shedrick Jackson with under a minute remaining.

“It was amazing. It was a great feeling,” Finley said. “I’ve never had that experience at Auburn…It gives me chills because [my teammates] support me so much.”

The play could have very well gone down as a sack for Georgia State to give it the ball and the chance to run time out on an upset victory. Finley, though, had other ideas.

“I (spun) out the tackle and Shed did an amazing job getting open,” he said.

Now, Auburn’s eyes are set on a trip to Death Valley to face Finley’s former team, and it’s very will possible that he gets his 1st start in an Auburn uniform in place of Nix for that one. Finley, though, made sure to note that there weren’t hard feelings between him and his former program.

“It’s going to be amazing,” he said. “I can’t wait. A lot of players there have supported my decision to come here.”
