T.J. Finley gave Auburn fans plenty to talk about when he led the Tigers to a game-winning touchdown drive in the dying seconds of their game against Georgia State. After coming in the game in place of incumbent starter Bo Nix, Finley was 9-of-16 for 97 yards, a good chunk of that yardage coming in the final drive.

In the end, it was the Tigers staving off the Panthers’ upset bid to improve to 3-1 on the season.

That’s touched off a potential quarterback controversy in the Plains with Finley’s former team, LSU, looming on Oct. 2 in Death Valley. And the obvious question was asked of Bryan Harsin about Nix’s reaction after being benched.

“What do you expect? He wants to be out there. I made that decision. Probably pissed, like every competitor should be,” Harsin replied, according to Bennett Durando. “That’s how any player comes out of the game. You don’t want to come out of the game.”

We’ll see if Harsin sticks with Finley or puts Nix back out as the starter against LSU.
