Georgia is now the No. 1 team in the nation following Alabama’s loss at Texas A&M on Saturday.

Certainly the Bulldogs have been tremendous on defense but they have also managed to deal with an unsettled quarterback situation in light of injuries to JT Daniels.

The 6-3, 210-pound junior missed the UAB game earlier this season with an oblique injury, and a strained lat muscle has kept him out of the last 2 games for 6-0 Georgia.

During his weekly press conference Monday, Bulldogs coach Kirby Smart said he wasn’t going to get into hypotheticals about who would start on Saturday against No. 11 Kentucky. But he did say that Daniels is getting better.

“We’re trying to get JT back,” Smart said. “He’s much improved.”

In the 3 games he has played, Daniels has completed 54-of-71 passes for 567 yards, 5 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions.

In his absence, Stetson Bennett has performed well for the Bulldogs, passing for 746 yards, 8 TDs and 2 interceptions.
