Florida junior defensive back Kaiir Elam has a decision ahead of him at the close of the 2021 season.

Everyone agrees that this has been a disappointing season by any stretch of the imagination for the Gators, who are 4-3 (2-3 SEC) ahead of a meeting with No. 1 Georgia in the annual Cocktail Party in Jacksonville. The Bulldogs will be heavily favored to improve to 8-0 as they appear bound for an SEC Championship Game berth and a possible spot in the College Football Playoff.

With Elam’s 3rd season eventually drawing to a close, he’ll face the option of pursuing an NFL career or returning for his senior season in 2022. However, due to an injury that sidelined him for 3 games, he hasn’t been able to quite reach the heights he showed in previous seasons, and there’s always the risk of further damaging his draft stock

Elam was asked about it on Tuesday during the Gators’ media availability.

For now, we’ll see what role Elam has to play as Florida takes on Georgia on Saturday. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
