Arkansas’ offensive line corps could be decreasing by 1.

Jalen St. John, a guard from St. Louis, has entered the transfer portal, according to HawgBeat.com’s Andrew Hutchinson. St. John was ranked a 3-star recruit in the class of 2020 by 247Sports.com.

Per Hutchinson, St. John didn’t show up to the Razorbacks’ bowl game practice on Monday. Arkansas is preparing for Jan. 1’s Outback Bowl against Penn State.

“I really can’t elaborate on St. John, because I don’t really know any more on that,” said Razorbacks head coach Sam Pittman. “He just didn’t show up for practice today. So I got to talk to him.”

St. John redshirted as a true freshman in 2020. In 2021, he played in a pair of games as he didn’t see substantial action.

He was once pledged to Missouri as he was recruited by Barry Odom. After Odom was fired, St. John decommitted, eventually pledging to the Razorbacks after Pittman hired both Odom and former Mizzou OL coach Brad Davis.

Of course, a player can remove his name from the portal, so it’s possible Pittman, along with Odom, can convince St. John to stay.
