Auburn clinched the regular-season SEC title Saturday with a win over South Carolina. It is the first outright SEC title for the Tigers since the 1998-99 season and their second title under Bruce Pearl after sharing the title during the 2017-18 season.

Now, the attention of Pearl and Auburn will turn to the SEC and NCAA Tournament. After spending a number of weeks at No. 1 on the AP Poll, the Tigers will look to return to the Final Four for the first time since 2019.

After Saturday’s win, Pearl reflected on what he called a “historic” championship.

Pearl also said the biggest question facing Auburn in the postseason is whether or not the Tigers can get hot in March. The head coach knows Auburn’s defense is enough to keep the team in games, but the Tigers will “have to pick it up offensively” to win an NCAA championship.
