Georgia is expected to part ways with head men’s basketball coach Tom Crean after the season officially ends, per a report on Tuesday morning.

Now, the only question is — when will the season officially end? It could conclude as soon as Wednesday night, when the Bulldogs face Vanderbilt in the first round of the SEC Tournament.

Then, the Dawgs would be on the clock for a new coach. Who would get a look? Chip Towers of AJC.com reports that the Bulldogs have their eyes on 4 potential candidates:

In the early going at least, Georgia appears to be focused on four primary targets: Xavier associate head coach Jonas Hayes, Cleveland State head coach Dennis Gates, Wake Forest head coach Steve Forbes and USC head coach Andy Enfield.

Jonas Hayes has Georgia connections, while the others don’t. Will the Bulldogs bring back one of their own? Or, will they look outside the organization for Crean’s replacement?

There’s a lot of work to be done to make the Georgia men’s basketball program respectable again. But, the good news is that, in today’s transfer portal era, big changes can be made quickly. We’ll see if the Bulldogs can claw their way out of one of the lowest stretches in program history.
