Alabama defensive back Eli Ricks’ legal issues from an offseason arrest have reportedly been resolved.

On May 1, Ricks was traveling southbound on Interstate 59 near Laurel, Mississippi when he was clocked by Highway Patrol going 91 mph in a 70 mph zone. When Ricks was stopped, he was found to be in possession of a gram of marijuana. Ricks was taken into custody, also receiving citations for speeding and not having insurance.

Mike Rodak of AL.com reports Thursday that the marijuana charge has been dismissed by a Mississippi court. Rodak adds that Ricks, through his attorney, pleaded guilty to the speeding ticket and received a fine.

Ricks transferred to Alabama after 2 seasons at LSU. As a freshman, Ricks earned third-team All-America honors from the Associated Press and Freshman All-American recognition from the Football Writers Association of America. Ricks played 6 games in 2021 before having season-ending surgery to address a nagging injury.

Ricks, from Rancho Cucamonga, California, was a 5-star recruit in the class of 2020.
