Ole Miss fans go wild, celebrate College World Series title as reactions pour in
Ole Miss swept Oklahoma in the College World Series on Sunday, and captured the program’s first national championship. Immediately after the last out was recorded, fans went wild in celebration.
Fans and media alike joined in the celebration, and promoted the story that Ole Miss went from the last team in the NCAA Tournament, to the last one standing.
The Rebels did it thanks to 2 runs scored off of wild pitches in a three-run eighth inning that fueled a 4-2 victory Sunday. Ole Miss (42-23) became the eighth national champion since 2009 to come out of the SEC, and the trophy will stay in the Magnolia State for a second straight year. Mississippi State won last year.
Here’s a sample of some of the fan and media reaction:

Ole Miss fans were ready to fire Mike Bianco in March… he built a competitive program. It took him 22 years to win a national championship… Fans & weak athletic directors ruin college sports for so many athletes because fans do not understand sport. Congratulations @OleMissBSB
