Lane Kiffin reveals Ole Miss found its new punter at 'a keg party or something'
Lane Kiffin and the Ole Miss Rebels had a need at punter entering the 2022 season.
So, what did the head coach have his staff do? He told them to look around the Ole Miss student body and find him someone who could punt a football.
And, after Saturday’s scrimmage, Kiffin discussed the punter that was found — Charlie Pollock. Per Kiffin, who said it with a smile on his face, Pollock was found “at a keg party or something” on the Ole Miss campus:
The punter is Charlie Pollock, previously at Nevada. He’s listed at 6-1, 250. Here was Kiffin’s full quote (he was smiling as he said this, but I do love to imagine Pollock was punting on fraternity row) https://t.co/WZkCfm95Rq pic.twitter.com/8jLtm14v2q

Fortunately for the Rebels, Pollock has some experience kicking the ball, having played collegiately at Nevada as a highly touted punter in the 2020 class.
But, it sounds like he was one of the ever-increasing transfer portal casualties — guys who enter the portal but can’t find another scholarship opportunity. Now, he has another opportunity, and it comes with Ole Miss punter Fraser Masin battling injuries this fall.
We’ll see if Pollock can get on the field for Ole Miss this season.
