Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate is not expected to be one of the Rivalry Week games that potentially shake up the College Football Playoff picture. No. 1 Georgia entered the game favored by 36.5 points at home against in-state rival Georgia Tech. Early on, the Yellow Jackets are hanging much closer than expected.

The Yellow Jackets struck first, taking an early 7-0 lead in the first quarter.

Georgia Tech maintained its lead for a while. It was a 7-3 Yellow Jackets’ advantage at the end of the 1st quarter.

Midway through the second quarter, though, the Bulldogs went in front 10-7, the score at halftime in Athens.

It could certainly get ugly, but for the first half, it was a very impressive performance from Brent Key’s squad that will have people watching closely in the second half.

It certainly wouldn’t come as a surprise if UGA took control in the second half.

One can expect the Dawgs will get a fiery half-time speech from Kirby Smart.

The game is airing on ESPN.
