Florida may not be done seeing Avery Helm. The third-year defensive back is looking to continue his college football career elsewhere and is considering staying in the SEC East.

Saturday, Helm revealed his location to be on Missouri campus, presumably making his way to Mizzou Arena for the Border Showdown with No. 6 Kansas.

A 4-star prospect in the class of 2020 out of Missouri City, Texas, Helm chose the Gators over scholarship offers from 22 other teams, including Texas, Texas A&M, TCU and Arizona.

In his first year on campus, Helm redshirted for the 2020 season. He made his debut in the Cotton Bowl, recording 1 tackle.

In 2021, he appeared in 11 games (9 starts), finishing with 3 pass breakups and 22 tackles. This past season, Helm made 10 appearances, including 4 starts at cornerback. He recorded 8 tackles and a pass breakup. Helm did not appear in UF’s last 2 regular-season games.

Helm would not be the first Florida-to-Mizzou transfer if he chooses the Tigers. Linebacker Ty’Ron Hopper made the move for 2022. Hopper had 69 tackles, including 14 for loss, in his first season at MU.
