Texas A&M basketball is hoping to make a deep run in the NCAA Tournament this March.

The Aggies received a No. 7 seed from the selection committee, but ESPN’s Marty Smith is a big believer in Buzz Williams’ team.

Smith is predicting Texas A&M to reach the Final Four alongside Alabama, Duke and UConn. Here are his predictions:

As a No. 7 seed, Texas A&M would make history if it reaches the Final Four. A No. 7 seed has reached the Final Four 3 times previously, although all of those instances have come since 2014. South Carolina (2017), Michigan State (2015) and UConn (2014) are the previous No. 7 seeds who have reached the semifinals.

It would be significant program history, as well. The Aggies have never made it beyond the Sweet 16. They’ve been to that round 6 times, including as recently as 2018, but have never been to the Elite Eight.

This will be Texas A&M’s 1st NCAA Tournament appearance since 2018. This is Buzz Williams’ 4th season in College Station.

Texas A&M will face Penn State in the 1st round on Thursday night. Tipoff is at 9:55 p.m. ET.
