Nick Saban to ESPN: Fans, media react to Saban's post-coaching gig
Nick Saban is finished with his longtime coaching career at Alabama, but the legendary head coach is not leaving the sport altogether.
On Wednesday, it was officially announced that Saban is joining ESPN as a college football analyst. Saban’s primary role will be with College GameDay but he is also set to appear on ESPN’s coverage of the NFL Draft and at SEC Media Days.
The move is far from a stunner with Rece Davis even hinting at a potential move to ESPN during his first interview with Saban after the coach’s retirement. With that move official, Saban said he will “do my best to offer additional insights and perspectives to contribute to College GameDay.”
Saban also has some experience as an analyst while making guest appearances for ESPN later in his career. The move looks to be a perfect fit from the outside, and it will be interesting to see how his first season on the network unfolds in 2024.

Game 1 for Coach Saban — @GeorgiaTechFB vs Florida State at @cfbireland. It’ll be very cool to see him reunite with Coach Key in Dublin.
