Last year, Ole Miss led the nation in scoring defense and took down 12-win Alabama and 10-win Mississippi State in what was a historic season for the Rebels.

But that historic season came to a historic end for the wrong reasons when TCU, a snub of the inaugural College Football Playoff field, thumped the Rebels 42-3 in last year’s Peach Bowl on New Year’s Eve. The 39-point loss wasn’t just Ole Miss’ largest of the season, but its largest since a 52-7 loss to No. 1 Alabama in 2011, a year before head coach Hugh Freeze even arrived on campus.

The following comments may be nearly five months removed from that beatdown, but TCU head coach Gary Patterson offered up his game plan on how his Horned Frogs were able to win with such ease.

This is some interesting insight from a coach who did to Ole Miss what no SEC foe could in 2014. The Rebels will almost certainly make adjustments this offseason, but that knowledge shared by Patterson could benefit the rest of the SEC West in 2015 as the division tries to hold down an Ole Miss team loaded with talent.
