Bryce Young is the 2021 winner of the Heisman Trophy. Young received more votes than fellow finalists Aidan Hutchinson (Michigan defensive end), Kenny Pickett (Pittsburgh quarterback) and C.J. Stroud (Ohio State QB).

Young is the first Alabama quarterback to win the award, joining Mark Ingram (2009), Derrick Henry (2015) and DeVonta Smith (2020) as Crimson Tide players to take home college football’s top individual award.

Through 13 games, Young is 314-of-462 passing for 4,322 yards, 43 touchdowns and just 4 interceptions. Young’s 43 touchdowns are tied with Tua Tagovailoa for most in a single season by an Alabama quarterback. Young is just 178 yards shy of Mac Jones’ school record of 4,500 passing yards, set last season in 13 games.

Voting for the Heisman concluded a week ago. Young made a strong push before the buzzer by scoring 4 touchdowns (3 passing, 1 rushing) while throwing for 421 yards in Alabama’s SEC Championship Game win over Georgia. Young and the Tide face No. 4 Cincinnati in the Cotton Bowl, a College Football Playoff semifinal, on Dec. 31.
