The University of Alabama’s men’s basketball team is left looking for a new opponent after it was announced that Tuesday’s upcoming game against Colorado State has been canceled.

The Rams basketball team — as several others are — are suffering from COVID-related concerns within the program.

Alabama shared the following release after the Rams’ decision.

The Crimson Tide men’s basketball team will no longer play Colorado State on Tuesday, Dec. 21 due to COVID-related concerns within the Rams’ program.

Alabama will seek an alternate opponent for the C.M. Newton Classic, which is set for a 6 p.m. CT tip in Legacy Arena at the BJCC in Birmingham, Ala.

Colorado State released the following statement on social media regarding the cancellation.

Alabama’s next game is Saturday, December 18 against Jacksonville State. The game tips off at 8:30 p.m. ET. The Tide will look to find a new opponent Tuesday night before playing Tennessee on December 29.
