Alabama has opened up a big lead on Miami in the 2nd quarter in Atlanta on Saturday, but concern is with one of the Tide’s primary linebackers.

Christopher Allen has exited the game after suffering an apparent injury to his right foot. He was taken to the Alabama medical tent and left it wearing a boot on his right foot, but eventually was taken to the locker room on a cart.

Allen would be a big loss for the Alabama linebacker corps. The redshirt senior from Baton Rouge, La. recorded 13 tackles for a loss in 2020, tops among SEC defenders. He also totaled 6.0 sacks.

Allen finished as an All-SEC 2nd team selection following the regular season. Prior to the 2021 campaign, he was named a 3rd-team pick by the league media.

The Tide offense, meanwhile, appears as if it hasn’t missed a beat. In quarterback Bryce Young’s first career start, it has opened up a 27-0 lead on the Hurricanes in the 2nd quarter at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
