What appeared to be a drama-free recruiting cycle when it comes to the quarterback position for Alabama is no more, as the Crimson Tide have extended a scholarship offer to another in-state signal caller. This time it’s Cornelious Brown that Alabama is interested in potentially signing.

Brown’s offer is particularly interesting when you consider Alabama currently holds commitments from two four-star in-state QB prospects in Trussville’s Tyson Paul (the great-grandson of Bear Bryant) and Thompson’s Taulia Tagovailoa (of course, the younger brother of Tua Tagovailoa). This offer also comes immediately after Taulia visited Knoxville for the second time in recent months to throw for the Tennessee coaching staff. Taulia has made glowing comments regarding Jeremy Pruitt and his staff and has indicated he likely will take an official visit to Tennessee before signing with a school.

The 6-foot-5, 180-pound Brown is an intriguing prospect but one that had yet to land a significant offer before the Tide extended one to him. At this point in his recruitment, Vanderbilt, Rutgers, Bowling Green, FAU, UAB and Troy were among his other scholarship offers. 247Sports Composite Ratings list him as a three-star prospect and the No. 41 pro-style passer in the 2019 recruiting cycle.

During his junior season for Calera High School, Brown threw for 2,351 yards and 25 touchdowns. He certainly appears to have the arm to play in the SEC. Check out his junior season highlight reel here:
