Alabama RB Josh Jacobs was limited during the spring due to an ankle injury, for which he had surgery.

Now, he’s trying to work his way back into the mix ahead of the 2018 season, and the junior said on Monday that he’s feeling good.

According to 247Sports, Jacobs said he’s making progress and hasn’t missed a rep since summer practices started:

“Definitely making progress, getting back and getting my body right,” Jacobs said. “I couldn’t really put a percentage on it because I feel like every day I’m trying to get better. That’s my focus right now. I’ve been practicing every day, taking every rep since camp started.

“… I’m just ready to get back in the mix.”

Jacobs ran for 284 yards and a touchdown on 46 carries last season, and also had 14 catches for 168 yards and two touchdowns.

Damien Harris will be the feature back in the Alabama offense this season, but if Jacobs is fully healthy, he’ll have an important role for the Tide this fall.
