Alabama veteran wide receiver reportedly not listed in media guide

SEC Media Days kick off on Monday and media guides are already out and in the hands of reporters onsite in Hoover, Alabama.
Charlie Potter of BamaOnLine shared an interesting note from the Alabama media guide: Crimson Tide veteran wide receiver Xavier Williams was not listed among the UA players. Potter adds that Williams is not currently listed in the NCAA transfer portal.
This spring, Nick Saban praised Williams (using his nickname “Ziggy”) (via Bama Insider):
“Ziggy is kind of a jack-of-all-trades,” Saban said. “He can play about all the positions and he’s pretty good doing them all. He’s got some ability to return punts, so he’s made really nice progress. He has experience, he knows what to do. I think he can always go in the game and help out whenever he’s called on.”
Saban will presumably be asked about Williams’ status this week. He is scheduled to meet with the media on Wednesday.
Williams is still listed on the Alabama online roster. His online bio notes he has played in 12 games over the past three seasons. In 2020, he recorded 3 catches for 24 yards.
