HOOVER, Ala. — After putting up some truly impressive numbers as a true freshman during Alabama’s last national championship season, Calvin Ridley showcased to the college football world he is one of the best young football talents in the SEC. While that knowledge was already out there, what you may not know is that the junior receiver may have a more impressive skill that’s rarely talked about — he’s the self-proclaimed best Madden NFL player in the world.

During his media availability Wednesday, Ridley was asked about his gaming skills. Apparently, he didn’t appreciate having his talents questioned.

One of the reporters on site claimed Ridley’s Alabama teammate Da’Ron Payne told him that his Madden skills had been slipping recently. The receiver’s response was one of the early highlights from Wednesday in Hoover.

“My Madden skills never drop,” Ridley said in deadpan fashion.

‘Well, that’s what (Payne) said,” the reporter retorted.

“Nah, I’m one of the best in the world,” Ridley responded.

It appears we can add another talent to Ridley’s growing list of elite gridiron skills.
