Elias Ricks has finally made his transfer decision. The former LSU cornerback is headed to the Alabama Crimson Tide.

It became apparent that Ricks would transfer from LSU in November, and now, he’s headed to rival Alabama to finish out his career.

He announced his decision on Twitter:

After entering the NCAA Transfer Portal, Ricks was reportedly looking at 4 schools as potential landing spots: Alabama, Ohio State, USC and Georgia. However, Nick Saban and the Tide won out in the end.

Exiting high school from the IMG Academy, Ricks was rated as the nation’s No. 2 overall cornerback and the No. 14 overall prospect in the nation, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Ricks played in 6 of LSU’s games this season, before he was sidelined by injury. He made one interception to go with one pass breakup. He picked off 4 passes last season and in the mix to be an early-round selection in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Ricks was named a Freshman All-American during the 2020 season.
