Former Alabama OL Chris Owens is getting another NFL opportunity. The New York Giants announced Friday that they have signed Owens. Upon arrival, he worked with the second-team offensive line at right guard in practice.

Owens is with his second pro squad. In May, Owens joined the Pittsburgh Steelers as an undrafted free agent. On Tuesday, Owens was let go by the Steelers as part of roster cuts to get from 90 members to 85 players.

Owens had a lengthy Alabama career, using the NCAA’s COVID-19 waiver to play a sixth season in 2021. During his time in Tuscaloosa, Owens started 20 career games, including 12 games at right tackle and one at center in 2021.
