Former Alabama RB Trey Sanders has found his new home. Sanders announced his commitment to TCU on Thursday via social media.

Sanders, a former 5-star recruit, opted to transfer after 4 seasons at Alabama.

Sanders is originally from Port Saint Joe, Florida and was one of the top recruits in the 2019 recruiting class out of the IMG Academy (Bradenton, Florida). His Alabama career, however, has not gone as planned, due to injuries.

Sanders sat out 2019 after suffering a season-ending injury in fall camp. In 2020, Sanders was limited to just 4 appearances after he was injured in a car accident while home in Florida during Alabama’s off week.

In 2021, Sanders played in 13 games and rushed 72 times for 314 yards and 2 touchdowns. This season, he appeared in 9 games and logged 80 rushing yards and a TD on 14 carries.

Sanders is the third Alabama player to elect to transfer to TCU. He joins wide receiver JoJo Earle and offensive lineman Tommy Brockermeyer
