Former All-American recruit, Alabama DL O.J. Smith announces transfer to Minnesota
O.J. Smith is leaving the South to head up North and play for new Minnesota coach P.J. Fleck. The former Alabama lineman spent the last three seasons in Tuscaloosa serving in a reserve role before announcing his decision to leave the program this offseason.
Smith was a four-star recruit coming out of high school according to ESPN and participated in the Under Armour All-American Game in 2014. He is a native of Bossier City, La.
Smith announced the news Thursday morning on Twitter:
