Jalen Hurts’ departure from Alabama was something most predicted would happen long before it ever did but just because those predictions came true doesn’t mean losing him won’t sting for the fans, as he was one of the Crimson Tide’s most popular players.

By now you must have heard the news, Hurts announced he is headed to Oklahoma to finish out his college career.

Seemingly a leader from the moment he stepped on campus in Tuscaloosa, Hurts’ impact on the Alabama program over the previous three seasons can’t be measured in simple stats, achievements or accolades. While Tua Tagovailoa may have been lighting up the scoreboard each Saturday this fall, it was Hurts that saved the day when the team needed help the most in the SEC Championship Game.

That moment was highlighted in a special thank you video released by Alabama on Thursday. Outside of winning a national championship, Nick Saban never looked happier following a game than after Hurts led the Crimson Tide back from the dead in the league championship game.
