Jalen Hurts had some incredible moments at Alabama, but now he’s off to Oklahoma to quarterback the Sooners in 2019.

As he prepares for his last season of college eligibility, he’ll take over an offense that has produced Heisman-winning quarterbacks in Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray the past two seasons.

On Tuesday, Hurts spoke to SoonerSports.com and explained why he decided to head to Norman. He added that he wants to end his college career with a bang:

“There’s a great foundation here at Oklahoma, and Coach Riley does a great job,” Hurts said Tuesday about why he chose OU. “He’s very efficient in what he does. And for my last ride, my senior year, I want to be a part of it.

“Last year I was fully invested in the University of Alabama. And at the Orange Bowl I was fully invested in beating OU and getting to the National Championship. But now I’m part of the Sooner family and I’m thankful to be here.”

Asked what excites him most about his opportunity at OU, Hurts was succinct.

“I want to go out with a bang,” he said.

The Sooners have made the College Football Playoff the past two seasons, and with Hurts, they’ll have a great chance to make the final four once again.

Will Hurts get a chance to face his former team? We’ll see this fall.
