Jalen Milroe was named Alabama’s starter moving forward following last week’s rough win over USF in South Florida.

Milroe did not play against the Bulls after starting against Texas. And though his performance was far from perfect, it became increasingly obvious that he is still the best option Alabama has after Tyler Buchner and Ty Simpson both struggled against the Bulls.

Milroe at least gives you flexibility with his legs and he’s a strong athlete. On Tuesday, wide receiver Jermaine Burton was asked how far Milroe can throw a football.

His answer was simply, “It’s far, bro.”

Milroe’s arm strength and ability to fit passes into windows some QBs just can’t find is well-documented. His decision-making, on the other hand, could definitely use some work, as well as some accuracy issues.

The Tide has a big one this week, facing off against Ole Miss for a game that should have major implications on the race for the SEC West. The Rebels have started the year well, but Alabama is by far their biggest test of the season to this point.

Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS in Tuscaloosa.
