One college program is close to landing the nation’s top unsigned prospect in the 2021 recruiting cycle.

Which school J.T. Tuimoloau picks is anybody’s guess as the five-star defensive lineman and his family made the decision to slow down his recruitment and wait for the recruiting calendar to open back up before making a final decision during the previous recruiting cycle.

While the Early Signing Period and National Signing Day came and went for the vast majority of the 2021 recruiting class, a prospect of Tuimoloau’s caliber had the ability to wait it out until the NCAA finally made the decision to open up the recruiting calendar. Now that schools finally have the ability to host recruits for official visits, the Eastside Catholic High School standout is ready to visit his finalists.

The 6-foot-5, 277-pound Tuimoloau is down to five schools, Alabama, Ohio State, Oregon, USC and Washington. A native of Sammamish, Wash., Tuimoloau is rated as the No. 3 overall prospect and the nation’s No. 2 defensive linemen in the 2021 recruiting cycle according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.

According to Brandon Huffman of 247Sports, Tuimoloau and his family plan to visit Washington from June 4-6, USC from June 14-16, Ohio State from June 18-20, Oregon from June 20-22 and Alabama from June 25-27.

We will soon find out the value of the final visit for Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide as they will be the last ones able to make their pitch to the five-star prospect in person.

Following his tour of schools, Tuimoloau plans to announce his college decision.
