Lane Kiffin on facing Alabama: 'It's nice to know Bryce won't be there'
Lane Kiffin is routinely asked about Alabama, even when Ole Miss is not playing Alabama. This week, the questions will come early and often.
In fact, Kiffin heard one from Cole Cubelic on SEC Network before he left the field on Saturday night after the win over Georgia Tech. And he was asked again in the post-game press conference.
“Well, it’s nice to know that Bryce won’t be there,” Kiffin said.
Lane Kiffin was asked about catching Alabama with a bit of a quarterback issue given Bryce Young made such a difference in last year’s matchup and isn’t there this time.

Kiffin twice in the last 2 weeks was asked about Steve Sarkisian’s time at Alabama, and how an early loss can impact the season
“Sometimes an early loss can be good,” Kiffin said on Wednesday. “Not Alabama week, but I’m getting Alabama questions already. But I think they’re going to be in a better position because it wasn’t an SEC game. An early loss sometimes over time has been really good and better than a late loss as we’ve seen in order to get in the Playoffs and things.”
Given Ole Miss’ undefeated start, and Alabama’s sloppy win over South Florida, there should be plenty of storylines entering the Rebels’ matchup with the Crimson Tide.
Dude, we need to just get up two scores against the Tide and then just cruise on for a win. The Tide’s offense is stagnant. Defense is always great, but Ole Miss’ offense is absolutely elite and probably one of the best in the nation. It’ll be a dogfight for sure. If Ole Miss’ defense comes to play, Rebels could cruise for an easy win, one we haven’t seen since the days of Eli Manning ?
Is this how far Bama has fallen, at least from a perception standpoint. Opponents fans are now talking about cruising for an easy win. Amazing.
“Is this how far Bama has fallen”
Sure seems like it. This is the worst Saban coached team I’ve seen in a very long time. Offense was awful.
It didn’t look elite against Tulane. And you can bet on Third and Golding letting you down
