Tua Tagovailoa is taking the college football world by storm.

Even without playing in a single fourth quarter thus far, the Alabama quarterback has put up 18 touchdowns and zero interceptions and has led his team to 31 touchdowns on 41 drives.

On Friday, former Alabama QB (and current SEC Network analyst) Greg McElroy joined ESPNU Radio on SiriusXM and explained why Tagovailoa is the best quarterback he’s ever seen during his career as an analyst:

“He’s so much better than everyone else on the field, it’s not even close,” he said. “The way he operates that offense, with efficiency and can put touch on passes when he has to and move and change his arm angle and get it out as fast as humanly possible and be accurate down the field and flip his hips completely to throw a slant the opposite direction — he does things that are so challenging. He makes them look routine.

“He is the best quarterback I’ve seen since I started working in this industry. I loved Baker Mayfield, thought he was awesome. Tua’s better. He really is. This kid is on another level, with efficiency, with accuracy, with moving in the pocket, with being dynamic with his legs when he has to. This kid is as good as I’ve ever seen.”

Tagovailoa will get another chance to show his skills this weekend when Mizzou comes to town. However, based on the Tigers’ spotty pass defense, he could once again be watching from the sideline in the fourth quarter.
