Former Alabama DB Minkah Fitzpatrick has been one of the best defensive backs in college football for the past couple of years, and back in December, he won the Jim Thorpe Award, given annually to the nation’s best defensive back.

Fitzpatrick, obviously, was busy at the time preparing for the College Football Playoff, but on Tuesday, he got to visit the Oklahoma Senate and was recognized for the award.

As you can see below, the Oklahoma Senate posted a photo of Fitzpatrick’s visit:

Fitzpatrick is now heading off to the NFL, where he is projected to be a top-10 pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. If he continues playing like he did in college, he could continue to rack up the awards.
