The rich only continue to get richer, at least that’s what will happen if Alabama head coach Nick Saban gets his way on the recruiting trail with top center prospect Cesar Ruiz.

While attending Nike’s The Opening this week, Ruiz has declared the Crimson Tide to be the leader in his recruitment.

“They send offensive linemen to the league every year,” Ruiz said Thursday to Ryan Bartow of 247Sports. “They really know how to develop football players, not just offensive linemen. I just want to win national titles. There’s a lot of good connections because they always have the best talent.”

Ruiz went on to say his relationship with offensive line coaches Mario Cristobal and Brent Key play a key factor in his recruitment. Could a commit soon be coming? Ruiz is currently planning on taking a visit to Tuscaloosa this month and an announcement could be imminent.

Rated as a four-star prospect, the 6-foot-3, 315-pound Ruiz is the nation’s No. 1 center prospect, according to 247Sports Composite Ratings. While Michigan, Auburn, Clemson, Florida and North Carolina are all considered contenders to ultimately sign him, Ruiz seems to be leaning toward join the Tide in order to create its next great front line.
